    CTHRMA Board of Directors

     


    Chapter officers’ nominations and their election shall occur each August at a regular meeting. Annually a President-Elect shall be nominated and elected. The President-Elect position upon completion of one year term automatically moves to President, which is a one year term. Upon completion of one year term as President, President moves to Past President, one year term. Secretary and Treasurer shall be elected for two year terms. Nominations for Treasurer shall be made in odd numbered years and nominations for Secretary shall be made in even numbered years. Staggered elections allow for continuity within the board from year to year. The current elected officers are noted below.

     

    PRESIDENT - JODY ASKINS

    Jody Askins is a Director of Workforce Education for the Business and Continuing Education Division at Temple College.  The majority of Jody’s career has been in training and professional development; she has also served in a human resource management role in a global corporate environment.   She has a Master’s degree from Mary Hardin Baylor, and has maintained her Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) from the Association of Talent Development since 2012. 

    Jody’s passionate about personal and professional growth! 

     

     

    PRESIDENT ELECT - STEPHANIE BRANHAM, SHRM-SCP

    Stephanie Branham is the Human Resources Manager of Allumed, Inc. She handles all HR duties for both locations, in Temple and Grand Prairie, to include recruiting employees, composing and maintaining policies, administering benefit programs, responding to employee concerns, and handling unemployment cases. She has been employed with the company since 2002, during which time she has also managed the Accounts Receivable Department, all company contracts, and assistance in accreditation compliance.

    Stephanie graduated from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Sociology. More recently, she attended the inaugural Human Resource Management Academy through Temple College in order to prepare for the first round of testing for the new SHRM certification exams. She obtained her SHRM-SCP credentials in July of 2015. Soon after receiving the passing results of the exam, Stephanie was chosen as one of forty-nine participants globally to attend a five day rapid item writing workshop in Washington, D.C. with members of SHRM and Prometric. Participation in that workshop resulted in the construction of hundreds of multiple choice and situational judgment items for future SHRM-SCP and SHRM-CP exams. Since that opportunity, she has been requested by SHRM to continue to assist with exam projects, including technical item review, bias/ cultural sensitivity review, and content validity review.

    In addition to her board role with CTHRMA, Stephanie is also a member of Leadership Temple’s class of 2020 through the Temple Chamber of Commerce, the President of the Belton Council of PTA’s, and Parliamentarian of a Belton Elementary School PTA. Stephanie is also in the finalization process of publishing a children’s book on punctuation. This will be her first book in a “Grammar is Fun!” series.

    Stephanie has two children who are very active in extracurricular activities.

     

    SECRETARY - CINTHIA GARCIA

     

    MEMBERSHIP CHAIR - ANNA MUSULIN, PHR, SHRM-CP

    Anna Musulin is currently the Human Resources Manager for Omega Builders in Temple, TX. She has over ten year’s experience in the HR field, and has loved every year of it!  She currently handles all human resource duties for Omega, including recruiting, benefits, employee relations and satisfaction, payroll and more.   She received her MBA with a concentration in Human Resources from Texas A & M Central Texas in 2010.  She earned her Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification from the HR Certification Institute in 2013 and her SHRM-CP in 2015. This is her first year on the board and is super excited for the year to come.

    COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR/WEBMASTER - AMY HAYES, PHR, SHRM-CP

    Amy Hayes is currently the Director of Benefits for Temple Independent School District in Temple, TX. She is an experienced Human Resources (HR) professional with over 16 years in the field. She received her degree in Human Resources Management from Tarleton State University, earned her Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification from the HR Certification Institute (HRCI) in 2009 and her SHRM-CP from SHRM in 2015.

    Amy has worked in all areas of HR to include, but not limited to: Employee Relations, Staffing and Recruitment, Leadership and Employee Development, Benefits/Compensation, and Training/Performance Development.

    Amy is passionate about helping businesses make the most of their resources and talent and helping employees make the most of their role in the organization.

     

    SOCIAL MEDIA CHAIR - AMANDA EADS

    Amanda Eads has an Associate Degree in Business Administration, two Bachelor Degrees in Business Administration and Business Management, and a Masters Degree in Human Resource Management. She is an adjunct instructor at Texas A&M University – Central Texas. She has been employed there since June 2011. Ms. Eads mostly teaches Human Resource Management, Human Resource Development and Business Communications, but also has experience teaching in Recruiting, Compensation and Business Ethics. Ms. Eads is also the sponsor for the SHRM student group on campus, HR Warriors Leadership Team.

    PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT CHAIR - SHIMIKA BURK

    Shimika Burk is a Human Resource Generalist with the Armed Services YMCA in Killeen, TX. She is from the Kansas City area and is new to the State of Texas. Shimika graduated from Wichita State University with an undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice. She received her Graduate Degree from Friends University in Business Administration. Shimika has held previous roles in Human Resources as an HR Generalist & HR Specialist with duties such as recruitment, employee relations, benefits and compensation, payroll, training, and compliance.

    Shimika is currently on the Board as Professional Development Chair since 2019. She is passionate about helping and assisting others in their career growth in colleges and universities.

    PROGRAM CHAIR - HEIDI POWELL

    Heidi has been a member of the Central Texas Human Resource Management Association since 2012. She holds the position of Programs Chair and has served in past years as the Conference Chair, Communications Director and the President-Elect of the Chapter. Heidi is a business professional with expertise in Human Resources, Market Development, Talent Acquisition, Account Management, Sales and Marketing, as well as, Operations Management. Heidi has over 18 years of management experience providing services and support to companies in the healthcare, telecommunications, retail, IT, administrative, manufacturing and distribution industries. Heidi obtained a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor. Heidi also holds her Professional Human Resources (PHR) from the HR Certification Institute and her SHRM-CP from the Society of Human Resources Management. 

    COLLEGE RELATIONS CHAIR - JULIE ESCAMILLA

    Julie Escamilla is the Director of Workforce Education for the Business and Continuing Education (BCE) Division at Temple College. She began working at Temple College in 2015 and has served in various roles in BCE. Julie earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resource Management from Texas A&M University - Central Texas. She is also a graduate of Belton Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Belton and now serves on the Leadership Belton Board. Julie has a passion for helping others learn and grow!

    CONFERENCE CHAIR - APPLE FULTON

    Apple Fulton is currently the Human Resource Assistant at Emerson Construction in Temple.  Apple started with Emerson Construction in 2007 and has played an integral role in recruiting and hiring as well as maintaining good working relationships throughout the company. 

    She genuinely enjoys helping people and continues to further her education in an effort to compliment her career in Human Resources.

    CONFERENCE CO-CHAIR - JULIE RODRIGUEZ

    Julie Rodriguez is currently working in executive talent acquisition at McLane Company, Inc. She has 15+ years of HR experience in industries such as: Supply Chain, Legal, & Retail. She has been employed with the company since 2010, working through different HR departments such as Benefits, Employee Relations, and Recruiting.

    Julie received her Master’s degree in May 2019. Besides her role in CTHRMA, she is also a board member for McLane WIN (Workforce Inclusion Network), and WFF (Women’s Foodservice Forum) Leader at local monthly meetings. She is a long-time volunteer throughout the community and her church.

    Julie is a proud mother to blended family of 4, married to her best friend, and loves to travel and see the world.

    PAST PRESIDENT - APRIL METCALF

    April Metcalf currently serves as the Human Resource Manager for Emerson Construction in Temple. With over 20 years’ experience in Human Resources, and over 9 years with Emerson Construction, April has held positions responsible for recruiting, benefits and compensation, employee relations, operational excellence, strategic planning, as well as training/performance development. April is very passionate about Human Resources and ensuring that we provide value to our internal customers.

    April is currently finishing up her Bachelor of Science, Business - Human Resource Management and was able to obtain her SHRM-SCP credentials in May of 2019. April also currently serves as a Co-Director – Membership for the TX SHRM chapter.
