Just one employee with chronic performance or work-habit problems can drag down the productivity and morale of an entire work group. It can also dominate a leader's time and lead to frustration and stress. How can this situation be "nipped in the bud" to turn the individual back into a solid performer? What happens -- or should happen -- when the performance or work habits remain below standard, no matter what amount and quality of coaching you provide?
This two-session workshop (Wednesday afternoons, May 13 and 20) will help leaders conduct effective improvement discussions and provide the feedback and on-going support people need to improve performance. It also will build leaders' skills in handling chronic performance or work-habit problems or even serious misconduct. Documentation dos and don'ts, as well as effectively discussing and imposing formal consequences, will be covered.
PREREQUISITE: Development Dimension International's (DDI) "Essentials of Leadership" which may be completed through Temple College's "Leadership Launch" workshop or in a web-based training option. DDI's "Communicating with Impact" as well as "Communicating for Leadership Success" also will fulfill the prerequisite.
Approved by HRCI for 7 hours of General PHR/SPHR Credit.
Scheduled Workshop Facilitator: Pauline Hoehn, PHR, Certified Coach, and DDI-certified facilitator. (Note: the facilitator may change, but it will always be a DDI-certified facilitator.)
